There are several incentive programs that are offered from various sources to help you with the costs of renovating your home, take a look at some listed below:

  • ecoENERGY Retrofit Homes Program Offered until March 31, 2012, homeowners are eligible to receive grants of up to $5000 to make their homes more energy efficient
  • LiveSmart BC Until March 31, 2013 BC homeowners can access rebates on qualified energy efficiency and renewable energy upgrades. There is no maximum grant
  • BC Hydro PowerSmart offers rebates and incentives for energy efficient products like LED light bulbs and Energy Star appliances and windows. Low income customers may be eligible to receive a free energy saving kit or participate in the Energy Conservation Assistance Program, which offers a free home energy assessment, products and advice
  • Fortis BC (natural gas) offers rebates and incentives to customers who install high-efficiency water heaters, furnaces, fireplaces and appliances. Fortis customers who switch from an oil or propane heating system to an Energy Star high-efficiency natural gas heating system can qualify for a $1000 cash rebate
  • Fortis BC (electrical) offers rebates and incentives for customers who upgrade their insulation, residential heating and cooling systems or residential water heating systems, or who purchase Energy Star appliances, lighting, windows and doors
  • In addition, there are also product suppliers that offer rebates for purchasing Energy Efficient products that Pioneer Home Hardware Building Centre works with every day, just ask an instore renovations expert!
